Vehicle Technician

Location: Bournemouth

Job Description:

  • Job Title: Vehicle Technician 
  • Salary: £35,000–£45,000 basic salary 
  • Job Type: Full-Time 
  • Location: Bournemouth


About the role:

We're recruiting on behalf of a busy and well-established independent garage in Bournemouth for an experienced Vehicle Technician.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional workshop where you'll work on a wide range of vehicles, carrying out servicing, diagnostics and repairs while benefiting from a Monday to Friday working pattern with no weekends.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Carry out vehicle servicing and routine maintenance 
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults 
  • Complete cambelt and clutch replacements 
  • Perform vehicle inspections and identify additional work where required 
  • Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and industry standards 
  • Maintain accurate service records and job cards 
  • Deliver high standards of workmanship and customer service


What we're looking for:

We're looking for candidates with:

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic 
  • Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent) 
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills 
  • Experience servicing and repairing a range of light vehicles 
  • Full UK Driving Licence 
  • MOT Licence beneficial, but not essential

About the role:

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established independent garage in Southampton for an experienced MOT Tester. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional workshop carrying out MOT inspections, light vehicle servicing and basic repairs while working alongside a friendly and experienced team.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Carry out Class 4 MOT inspections 
  • Complete light vehicle servicing and routine maintenance 
  • Identify vehicle defects and advise on required repairs 
  • Carry out basic mechanical repairs where required 
  • Ensure all MOTs are completed in line with DVSA standards 
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation 
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high workmanship standards


What we’re looking for:

  • Valid Class 4 MOT Tester Licence 
  • Previous experience as an MOT Tester or Vehicle Technician 
  • Strong knowledge of DVSA MOT testing standards 
  • Experience carrying out servicing and light repairs 
  • Full UK Driving Licence 
  • Excellent attention to detail

About the role:

This role is ideal for an experienced automotive professional who enjoys leading a team and driving workshop performance. You'll oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring jobs are completed on time, technicians are fully supported and customers receive a first-class service.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the daily workflow of the workshop 
  • Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill set and workload 
  • Monitor workshop productivity and efficiency 
  • Carry out quality control checks on completed work 
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the workshop team

  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
